RIBA President's Award for Research - 2019

Our co-founder Tumpa Fellows has been awarded a commendation for the RIBA President's Award for Research in 2019. Her research has been recognised for excellence in the community participatory and adaptive architectural responses to the changing climate. These projects have been conducted in collaboration with the UK based charity Mannan Foundation Trust.
The judges praised her research for investigating methods of improving and managing quality control as well as new design and building techniques which improve the construction process and the built environment. It evokes the importance of an active agency in such a process and how this positively affect and shape communities.

Our founders Tumpa and David Fellows attends the architectural awards ceremony in Singapore. This architectural award has been awarded for the Rajapur Community Building for Women's Literacy and Healthcare - The Rajapur Centre led by the charity Mannan Foundation Trust.
The judges response:
"The project is an impressive example of techno-socio-economic-cultural-gender-ecologically appropriate design at a site and building scale. The project as a whole addresses an important aspect of social transformation—women's health and empowerment through literacy and income generation in a remote
rural village in Bangladesh... The construction process also engages a rediscovery of rich local expertise and materials."

Our co-founder Tumpa Husna Yasmin Fellows has been awarded a Rising Stars Award by the RIBA - J in 2017. The award recognised the excellence in the community participatory and adaptive architectural responses for the Rajapur Centre. This project has been conducted in collaboration with the UK based charity Mannan Foundation Trust.
The judges described her as a "natural leader".
