Project Description

This project has been designed to celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, celebrating indigenous communities across the globe. "We have so much to learn from Indigenous communities who have fostered a holistic relationship with planet Earth, drawing on generations of collective wisdom and knowledge. These communities are the 'real' experts in environmental conservation, where indigenous people steward the land." @earthrise.studio

Our Building Design Vision

The Tree Pavilion “Under the tree”, not only offers an engaging, relaxing and fun experience between human and nature, it also highlights the urgent message of our responsibilities towards climate change, climate injustice and the environmental crisis.

Our proposal attempts to decolonise climate responsive design by integrating indigenous knowledge from communities globally, who are facing climate adversities, their adaptations to climate change and preservations of nature.

The design promotes and showcases the use of natural building materials such as bamboo and earth, which can be re-used. These low embodied materials leading to net positive impact. Indigenous communities around the world use natural building materials such as these which have low environmental impact.
